People often assume that as photographers our businesses are under threat! In this day and age of ever improving photography equipment it is easy to think anyone with the right camera or indeed phone can ‘take’ a picture! This though is what makes a photographer different, we don’t just take pictures we ‘make’ photographs!  Storytelling is a gift, and as a photographer I like to use light and atmosphere to move people and tell a story with every frame.

Gardens

Since first being introduced to the gardening market many years ago I fell in love with the industry and it has become an obsession.  Gardeners are, in the main, friendly and optimistic, always planning for the future and always so willing to share their knowledge. So whether I am in the grand garden of a stately home or on an inner city allotment I always find there is a true connection and my photographic style hopefully shows this love of all things horticultural!

Lifestyle

A lover of the great outdoors, a walker, runner and lover of finding new places to explore.  Many of my photography commissions are to capture the essence a place and tell a story of the place, people and products.  In this challenging discipline its all about the light and weather conditions.  I think being able to fully absorb myself in the seasons is one of the factors I love about most about outdoor photography. I try to use this feeling of seasonality and light for indoor commissions always striving to create a natural feel to the imagery.

People

The heart of a good story revolves around characters and I love capturing people and telling their story.  For a long time I avoided people shots because I did not want to do bland studios shots or use on camera flash.  This still runs true today but by using natural light where possible, and the advances in LED light panels has allowed me to capture people in their native environment in a natural way.

With an extensive marketing background myself I understand what a client needs.  I like to build up long term relationships with clients to develop the brand and hopefully offer more than just the imagery supplied.
